The Cause of Mental Illness: Turning From Fathers (Men’s Forum)

We had the December meeting of our Men’s Forum at BOND, held the first Thursday each month. Jesse says that he now knows the cause of mental illness: A turning away from fathers. If you are not close with your earthly father, you will not be close to God. How can you hate your brother whom you have seen, and love God whom you have not seen?

The guys also talked about relationships — many men avoid relationships. In some cases, men fear women. Other men focus on building their career and make no time for dating. Some men have gone to a trend called MGTOW — Men Going Their Own Way, shunning the risks involved with marriage. This is unfortunate, because women and children deserve good husbands and fathers, respectively.

On his radio show, Jesse talks about these things as well as his Biblical Question of the Week: In Matthew 5:48, Jesus said: “Be ye perfect as your Father in heaven is perfect.” Do you believe we can be perfect?

We’re rebuilding men and pointing the way for all to become whole. We also offer Women’s Forums the third Thursday of the month. Many have been greatly helped by reading Jesse’s book The Antidote: Healing America from the Poison of Hate, Blame and Victimhood (a must-read and a great gift — leave a review!).

Don’t forget to pray. We have the silent prayer instructions linked on our Church page. Also, please donate to  BOND to support our work “Rebuilding the Family by Rebuilding the Man.”

After I read this I asked my colleague if she thought that she could be “perfect as our Father in heaven” and she said no and she gave me examples of her imperfections like her cooking. I let her know that her food is not who she is and that the perfection of our Father is a spiritual perfection, One that He has given us the ability to live by, if we choose to. Three months ago I would have said something way different (WRONG!). I love this BOND organization. It’s changing the way I see EVERYTHING.
