03 Nov You Search the Scriptures But Lack Eternal Life (Church, Oct 29)
Belief in the Bible vs. Belief in God
Jesse explains that people believe in the Bible but don’t believe in God. What you believe in controls you — that’s where your faith lies, and stops there. You tell yourself you believe in God, and in your fallen state make up excuses of why things are wrong, why you’re angry, have fear, doubt, anger and sin.
Children of God cannot have anger. Anger is not eternal life. But people claim “Jesus was angry,” and they think you need anger to act.
In John 5:39-40, Jesus said, “You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life; and these are they which testify of Me. But you are not willing to come to Me that you may have life.”
We’ve been taught wrong. People have the “Knowledge of Good and Evil,” and not Life.
Even conservatives on the right (who agree with the correct moral principles on political issues) are no better than the left, the liberals. They have no power, because they’ve not returned to the Father. They’re mean, they turn on you, judge you, and don’t give you a chance to be wrong — they have no compassion.
Do you have eternal life?
Eternal life is right here, right now. But people don’t know it. The way to receive eternal life is to know you don’t have it — to know yourself. God allows you to see. You cannot make yourself see. Nor can you make anyone else see that they are wrong. (It’s like trying to kill a pig without an ax!)
