19 Jan 05/09/10 Does Good Last? (Sunday Service Archive)
BOND Sunday Service, May 9, 2010: (Happy Mother’s Day!) Jesse Lee Peterson asks the question: Has anything good ever happened to you? Has that good thing ever lasted? Men and women talk about their families, marriages, jobs — but their feelings go up and down. Later Jesse asks: Are you in the present? Many don’t stay with prayer. Why do you pray?
Jesse comments on why new relationships and jobs often turn sour, even though they seem good at first. He reads a Bible passage from Matthew 6: 19-21, that says: Do not store up treasures on yourself on earth, where moth and woodworms (or rust) destroy them, and thieves break in and steal. But store up treasures for yourselves in heaven…. For wherever your treasure is, there your heart will be, too.
