The world brings you up and down. Emergencies are in your mind. Why are you an idol worshiper? Because of thoughts!

Church with Jesse Lee Peterson, Sunday, January 15, 2023: If you didn’t know your birthday, how old would you be? The world has ahold of you, with ups and downs: Brainwashing!  //

A man asks about “building a nest egg.” He feels he’s on an upward trajectory, and would be bored without ups and downs.  //  One man’s son is disappointed in him; he’s a “loser,” and will be dead in 20 years! Why want to leave a “legacy”? Why go to your son with your problems?  //

Another man saved money, and doesn’t loan to family — except in “emergency” cases. God does not help us in emergencies; in Him there is no emergency. That’s Satan’s world of thoughts and imagination!  //

Biblical Question: All human beings are idol worshipers. Why? Do you want to overcome it? Jesus asked a lame man if he wanted to be healed.  //  One lady likes being “put together” like her mother.  //  A songwriter uses her talent to feel closer to God.  //  Every human being worships thoughts.  //

Romans 12: 1-2, I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.  //

Resist the Devil by resisting the thoughts. Whatever they tell you to do, don’t. Do the Silent Prayer. You’ve been praying to the Devil.  //

Church Notes 1/15/23

11:00 AM US PST We start just about the top of the hour.

11:02 Jesse comments on people putting coats on dogs in the rain, weakening the dog!

If you didn’t know your birthday, how old would you be today?

11:03 Jesse asks people: If you didn’t know your birthday, how old would you be?

11:06 A young lady would guess her 30s, based on looking at other people. Another woman says she’d be 1-day-old today.

11:08 One woman says it seems complex to compare oneself to others. Doug guesses he wouldn’t have an age. It’s a weird question. Hake answers: Phase 4, based on places he’s lived, etc.

11:13 A young man answers.

JLP: If you had no idea, you’d never think about it

11:15 Jesse says it’s a complex question because it’s so simple. We’ve been brainwashed to think about time. When your youth starts to pass, you start to think about old age. So there’s an up and down. There should not be an up and down in life. It’s stressful to a lot of people. Women spend money to try to look young.

We’re supposed to be living a life never comparing back or forward, but just living. The person worried about age is not really you. It’s the ego nature, influenced by the world which has a hold of us, and doesn’t want to let us go. Break away from the world spiritually.

11:17 After one woman agrees, Jesse continues: We’re so conditioned!

JLP story: Dr. Phil reaction. The world has ahold of you.

11:18 One black person was mad at Jesse saying he trembled at the thought of whites becoming a minority in the country, on Dr. Phil’s show.

We’re enslaved by the world. We can live in this world and not be of it. The world has a hold of you.

11:21 Franky heard if you believe things you don’t understand, you’ll suffer.

11:22 Jesse asks Franky why he made up something when asked how old he’d be? “I started thinking…” He talks about comparing himself to others, and seeing what others do well.

JLP: No comparing yourself. No teachers.

11:23 One of the worst things you can do is compare yourself to others. You’re worshiping the Devil. Why not be free?

11:24 After one young man mentions hearing Jesse talk about having no teachers, Jesse speaks: If there were no teachers, America would be perfect.

Building a nest egg? Boredom… Up and down life… Mistakes

11:26 A man asks about “building a nest egg.” He wants to do it. He wants not to break his back when he’s too old. Jesse explains: If you lived in the present, you’d naturally take care of yourself. It’s only in time you make mistakes, in the so-called past and so-called future.

He feels that if he were flat he’d get bored. Who is the person that’s bored? You like excitement? Most people do love the up-and-down in life. Even when they complain about it, they’re excited about it.

This man is on an “upward trajectory,” in that he’s gotten careers

11:33 At Jesse’s prompting, Nick starts to react to the man’s ideas about his life.

11:35 Jesse asks him: Do you believe you can learn without making mistakes?

Nick talks about the push to be the greatest and most successful you can be.

“I’m gonna be dead in 20 years” … Leave a legacy?

11:38 The father says his son’s disappointed in him being in the restaurant business as a senior — and he’ll be dead in 20 years. He needs to leave a legacy for his son. Otherwise he’ll fade into oblivion.

Why is it so important to you that you think you need to be remembered? Who cares? Why do you want somebody to remember you? The man talks about his

What’s it like going to your son with your problems?

11:42 Jesse asks the man what good it does his son that he goes to his son with his problems. He’s given the image: “Dad Always Disappoints.” What good is it doing your son to put that fear and complaining on him? Why do you keep dumping on him with your problems? What hope does that give the son to dump failure on him?

Would you believe in Jesus if he was all beta, would you respect him? The son knows you as a complainer.

Man saved money. Would you loan money to those who didn’t?

11:48 Franky says he was raised to save as a kid. Jesse asks him: Would you ever loan your money to your brother or sister who didn’t save? He’d do it in an emergency. Why not let them learn?

11:51 Jesse and others point out he contradicts himself: He doesn’t loan except he does in emergency — once or twice.

Has God helped you in time of emergency?

11:53 A first-timer says there’s a contradiction. Franky then says he’s helped three or four times in emergencies. God has never helped you in emergencies.

11:54 Different people answer: Has God helped you in time of emergency?

11:56 A young man doesn’t feel like God has helped him in time of emergency specifically.

JLP: God does not help in emergency; in Him there is no emergency

11:56 God does not help in time of emergency, because in Him there is no emergency. You can beg for help, but as soon as that “help” is done, you just repeat the same thing. Emergency is in the mind, and the mind is of the Devil. You’ll give credit to God for the help, but in reality you’re giving credit to the Devil.

11:58 Alex disagrees 100%, saying he’s been helped, but he makes the same mistakes because he’s a shlump or schmuck.

How can you make mistakes in the light?

Jesse asks: If you were one with God, would you still be making mistakes? How can you make a mistake in the light? You don’t make mistakes in the darkness; you make them in the light? The Devil loves him. And he loves the Devil.

Biblical Question: Every human being is an idol worshiper. Why?

12:01 Jesse asks his Biblical Question. Franky says he is an idol worshiper; he’s been tricked, and is now drunk on it. He says he got angry and was afraid, during his father being drunk. Are you able to let your father go and stop using him as the example in your life? He says he can’t control what flows in his mind.

Do you want to overcome being an idol worshiper? Songwriter and Jesus

12:04 Jesse asks a woman: Why are you an idol worshiper? Do you know you’re an idol worshiper? She says yes, there’s things that she loves. Do you want to overcome being an idol worshiper? She’s a songwriter. She says it’s a good question. So she’s worried whether she’ll be able to write music without channeling the feelings.

Jesse recounts watching a show depicting Jesus asking a man if he wanted to be healed. You can be healed.

12:10 James and Doug answer about whether they’re idol worshipers. They get tempted away by things. Do you want to overcome it?

12:12 Franky tells a story of a man who died cherishing things. Did it stop you from being an idol worshiper? It shocked him, but didn’t stop him. He quotes Solomon saying all is vanity, all is vexing.

Woman likes being put together

12:14 A woman was raised with presenting an image being important. Her mother was into that. Still, she doesn’t think she’s an idol worshiper.

Using talent to feel close to God? (JLP sings Elvis for a couple seconds.)

12:20 The songwriter woman asks about using her talent to feel closer to God. Would you still feel close to God if that one song bombed? What does feeling close to God feel like?

12:24 One woman Rochelle says she’s no longer an idol worshiper. All human beings want to feel good; it’s based on emotions, going hand-in-hand with thoughts and living in imagination. She watched the Elvis Presley movie while thinking about the Biblical Question. With Elvis, the girls in the audience, and the manager, each had idols that made them feel good.

Jesse sings.

JLP: Every human being worships thoughts

12:26 Anyone who believes their thoughts is an idol worshiper. Jesus was the Son of God with the Spirit of the Father in him. But people recreated Jesus to a God. Jesus said greater things shall you do because the Father is in you. People do the same with preachers, musicians, politicians: If you live in the imagination, it creates an image. If you stayed present, you’d not put anyone on a pedestal.

To the “put together” woman, Jesse says: Your mother traumatized you like that, and you’re your mother, and not yourself. You can appreciate things without identifying with it, only if you’re not in your imagination. Don’t get any form of identity from it. Your thoughts make you judge yourself and feel different things, and you blame others for how you feel!

Franky used his daddy for explaining different things about himself: Let go of your daddy and become yourself. Your daddy is not responsible for how you are as an adult. No other human being is to be blamed for your actions.

Follow-up: How to forgive a parent who died?

12:32 The put-together woman follows up about her mother. She was an idol for her when she was alive. Jesse explains: Seeing it in yourself will allow you to know she couldn’t help herself. This woman didn’t even know she resented her mother, though.

Dealing with guilt for doing wrong

12:34 A young man asks about feelings of guilt or repentance: Is that also your thoughts? If you do a bad thing but don’t judge it, and realize you don’t want to do it, then you overcome it. If you worship the Devil by judging yourself, you’re stuck. In reality it’s not you. You are not your thoughts or feelings. It’s always been the spirit of the Devil. Above that is you, and you have no idea what that’s like.

Endure the storm. Buffaloes run toward the storm. That’s what you have to do in life. Change the way you’ve been dealing with it.

Present your bodies a living sacrifice

12:36 Nick reads Romans 12: 1-2, titled, “A living sacrifice.”

Jesse asks people what it means to present your bodies a living sacrifice, which is your reasonable service? One woman, after explaining what it means to her, says nothing has worked for her, and that’s why she’s here.

Franky answers, saying that he’s done it in some ways, being “all-in.”

12:40 Nick reads the verses again, and Doug reacts: It’s a nice verse.

JLP: Resist the Devil by resisting the thoughts, and let God take care of it

12:40 Jesse says to let go even of your ideas about Christ and about God. Lisa Marie Presley expired; she reportedly was in debt, on drugs, married four times… Her son committed suicide, reportedly. But in your imagination, you’d think she has everything! Your plans and what you think you want come from thoughts, and thoughts are of the Devil.

Give your whole self to God, all your images and imagination. Stop believing your thoughts. Watch them. The light of God causes you to see them, and the light will destroy the darkness. All images are dark, and of the Devil. It’s not you, and never has been. You’ve not been freed yet because you’ve believed they’re you.

When a bad feeling comes, you think, Oh Lord, help me! When a good feeling comes, you think, Oh Lord, thank you! But it’s all Satan! People sing, “Oh Lord, our Lord, how majestic is Your Name in all the earth!” But even the majestic image in their mind is wrong. All thoughts are all lies, all the time, about everything. Stop protecting the image.

Jesse again addresses the “put-together” woman.

The Kingdom of Heaven is within, not without — everything we need and want. Live the New Testament, life. Unless you present your bodies a living sacrifice you won’t do it. Overcome thoughts.

Jesse gives a scenario in which two men, he and Robert, get a raise, and both get excited, but one got more than the other! No longer is the one with the lesser raise so excited. Overcome the imagination.

JLP: Whatever your thoughts tell you to do, don’t do it

12:47 Nick says his thoughts always wanted him to go deal with things. Jesse says

12:48 Jesse agrees: Whatever your thoughts tell you to do, don’t do it. A reputation is just an image. You have nothing to protect. You’d automatically take care of yourself, and not waste money.

JLP: Suicide story

12:51 Jesse recounts a man who was ready to commit suicide over some woman. God is never going to tell you to kill yourself. He gave you life. He gave you love. Forgive the woman; she has problems. Forgive your parents. Stop judging yourself. Dump her and move on.

Life will work for you. It doesn’t need your help. The false image is from the Devil.

JLP: You’ve been praying to the Devil. (Jesse mock cries.)

12:53 If you follow the crowd, you’ll end up in a ditch. Become your own man or own woman by overcoming the imagination. Be still. All the verbal praying is to the Devil, and not to God. People get joy from crying out of that sadness.

Don’t fight over religion, meditation, or prayer. One man calls JLP’s show trying to prove Jesus is not the savior.
