Interview with Robert Bakke: Prayer at Full Throttle

On his radio show, Jesse interviewed NASCAR driver Robert Bakke, author of Prayer at Full Throttle: How Performance-Based Prayer Makes Miracles Happen. Robert is also an aerobatic flight instructor, private jet captain, black belt and founder of Robert Bakke Ministries. He speaks in schools, churches and on television around the world.

Robert told his parents as a young boy that he wanted to race cars. Since following his childhood dream of auto racing as a grown man, a life of helping others unfolded. Children go to his races and sign their names on the paint of his race car as a contract agreement with Robert never to allow others to talk them out of their dreams.

To Robert, the things he does, including auto racing, is not about winning, but about following the call of God on his life. People laughed at him for talking about what he wanted to do. Many people do something else. But at the same time, people also tell you when you have a talent. He believes he’s doing things to prove to the world that nothing is impossible when doing what God asks him to do.

Robert was an aimless, unconfident, skinny kid in school. But right out of high school, he read the New Testament on his own, and it changed his life. He is thankful, joyful and bold in telling the truth. He’s also successful: He launched into corporate America as a very young man, suffered trials and illness, and bounced back. He urges all to stop believing in negativity, divisiveness, class warfare, and become the perfect person God created.

Jesse loved the depth of conversation, and one day looks forward to meeting Robert Bakke when he visits Los Angeles.
