Are You Over Your Mother? (May 11, 2008, Mother’s Day Service)

This Sunday Service originally aired Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 11, 2008.

Jesse talks about young people in the black community, single mothers and lack of fathers. Then he deals with young men and women in Church who feel ongoing issues and resentment toward their mothers and family members.

Many people are told they resent their fathers, but they resent them with their mothers’ hatred. They identified with their mothers and turned away from their fathers, but deep down their anger came from their mothers.

Mothers do their best but make mistakes along the way and can’t help themselves, just as fathers do. But society only wants to deal with one side of the issue, attacking and blaming fathers, lying about and weakening fathers, while hiding the wrong that mothers do, so the problems only get worse.
